Reading for a better future

What do rapper Kool Savas and Berlin Senator for Education Katharina Günther-Wünsch have in common? What do actress Anna Maria Mühe and start-up investor Lea-Sophie Cramer have in common?

Answer: Together with other prominent supporters, the four of them are involved in the campaign Aktion Buchpatenschaft for more reading skills in Berlin primary schools. From now on, the celebrity campaign ambassadors will describe their relationship to reading in very personal videos shared via Instagram and LinkedIn and emphasize the outstanding importance of this life skill.

The Aktion Buchpatenschaft collects donations to provide Berlin elementary school with children's books and suitable accompanying material on the important topics of our time: Anti-bullying, anti-racism, feminism, diversity, language, creativity and movement. The sponsored books will initially be made available to the 200 partner schools of the VBKI reading mentor network.

In addition to the above-mentioned people, the circle of campaign ambassadors includes the journalist and presenter Aminata Belli, the actress Taneshia Abt, the actor Daniel Strässer (Wiener Burgtheater, Tatort), the journalist and presenter Anna Dushime, the actor Hassan Akkouch (4 Blocks), the actress Jasna Fritzi Bauer (Tatort), the basketball player and doctor Lena Gohlisch (captain of Alba Berlin) and the actor Bernardo Arias Porras (Berliner Schaubühne).

The initiators of the campaign are the VBKI with its non-profit project BERLINER LESEPATEN and the Berlin-based publishing house Mentor Verlag, which specializes in children's books.
