VBKI SYMPOSIUM

Pacesetter for the metropolitan region

The annual VBKI Symposium reflects the aspiration of the VBKI and its 2,300 members to play an active role in shaping Berlin's future agenda. It serves as a forum for an intensive discussion process involving the entire urban society on the question of what could and should characterize a successful and liveable Berlin of tomorrow.

Review of the VBKI Symposium 2022

Together with numerous representatives of Berlin's urban society, the VBKI held a symposium in 2022 under the heading Berlin. Now. Machen. intensively discussed the Berlin of tomorrow.

Franziska Giffey (Governing Mayor of Berlin), Laura Ludwig (2016 Olympic beach volleyball champion), Christian Gaebler (Berlin State Secretary for Building and Housing) and Prof. Dr. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup (urban planner, former State Secretary) were among the participants.
The content ranged from issues of urban development, sustainability, mobility, housing and sport to the future of cross-border cooperation in the capital region. The ideas and future concepts developed by the VBKI committees over the past few months served as a basis for discussion. Around 200 people took part on site and many more followed the VBKI symposium via livestream.
