VBKI becomes Institutional Partner of the Special Olympics 2023 in Berlin

Berlin is looking forward to a major world-class event - and the VBKI is involved as a sponsor: As an Institutional Partner, we are supporting the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, which will take place from June 17 to 25.

Every four years, 7,000 international athletes from over 170 nations with and without intellectual and multiple disabilities compete in 26 summer sports and unified sports competitions at the world's largest inclusive sports event.

 Both the Special Olympics Berlin 2023 and the VBKI want to make a lasting contribution to Berlin's development. Major sporting events not only have an impact on the economy of the host municipality during the actual event period, but also put the city in the global spotlight - with positive consequences for marketing opportunities and the general attractiveness of the city.

 The VBKI will contribute to the success of the Special Olympics 2023 in Berlin with its large and efficient network, press and public relations measures and thematically relevant events.

 Claudia Große-Leege, Managing Director of the VBKI: "We at the VBKI have made it our mission to help shape Berlin. In the field of sport, we have been doing justice to this self-image for years through numerous charitable projects that are driven forward by our VBKI sports committee. We therefore see ourselves as a natural partner of the Special Olympics for several reasons. On the one hand, it is important to us to promote the social recognition of people with intellectual disabilities. Secondly, we are delighted that Berlin will be hosting a major world-class sporting event. We are convinced that the Special Olympics will give our city a further boost in its development."
