Ceremonial honor
Kids fit for Europe: 29 pupils receive awards
For 20 years, the "Kids fit for Europe" competition organized by the State European Schools Berlin "SESB" has been making an active contribution to international understanding.
We at the VBKI are happy - and also a little proud - to have been on board as supporters and sponsors for almost as long. After all, in these difficult times, what could be more important than giving young people the linguistic tools they need to be open-minded and have an unprejudiced view of other cultures and countries? And what could be more meaningful than developing one's own talents and acquiring an important key to the world by learning foreign languages?
On September 21, 2022, we honored 29 students from grades 6, 8 and 10/11 at a festive awards ceremony in our Goldberger Hall. The motto of this year's competition was "Carpe Diem". All participants had written down their thoughts on this motto in short stories, which they had written in a foreign language. Impressive! Congratulations to everyone who took part in this phenomenal competition. And: the winning texts are now being published in a book - highly recommended reading!
