Tender launch: VBKI-Preis BERLINER GALERIEN enters its seventh round
The aim of the initiators of this unique nationwide prize is to promote the Berlin gallery scene and strengthen Berlin as an international art market location.
The prize will be awarded to an outstanding exhibition project by a gallery for the BERLIN ART WEEK in September 2023. The prize also draws attention to the continuous mediation work of Berlin's galleries, whose entrepreneurial commitment inspires the diversity of artistic production in this city.
The VBKI-Preis BERLINER GALERIEN is aimed at professional galleries based in Berlin that were founded at least three and no more than fifteen years ago. They can apply for the prize with an exhibition project that will be realized during the BERLIN ART WEEK 2023 in September.
The prize-winning gallery is selected in a two-stage process: In July, an expert jury nominates three galleries for the shortlist of the VBKI Prize BERLINER GALERIEN 2023 on the basis of the submitted exhibition concepts or project descriptions. At the beginning of September, the jury visits the nominated gallery exhibitions and selects the prize-winning gallery.
The award ceremony will take place in September as part of BERLIN ART WEEK 2023.
Berlin galleries can submit their application documents by post (postmark) to the Landesverband Berliner Galerien, Kalckreuthstraße 15, 10777 Berlin by July 3, 2023.
