Artificial intelligence in the age of quantum computing
The CEOs for Berlin visit the KI Park in Mariendorf

What does the future of artificial intelligence look like in the age of 6G and quantum computing? Over 30 CEOs from Berlin and Brandenburg wanted an answer to this question and accepted the invitation to the AI Park in Marienfelde, an association of over 150 research institutions, start-ups and scale-ups, established companies, investors and other social and political players.
In her keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Sabina Jeschke, CEO of the AI Park, answered the initial question with the help of the vision of a "Smart Connected Universe" - a highly networked and intelligent world in which almost all objects, devices and systems are connected and can exchange data in order to make intelligent decisions.
To realize this vision, four aspects are of particular importance: fast data connections, quantum computing and high-performance computers, artificial intelligence and virtual worlds such as the metaverse.

While it still takes 6 minutes to download a two-hour movie on a 4G network, it will only take 3.6 seconds with 5G. The future is therefore data transmission in real time with completely new possibilities of "distributed intelligence", in which the object and data processing, for example in autonomous driving, no longer have to be in one place, but behave like one entity.
In future, artificial intelligence will no longer learn on the basis of data, but will learn according to the trial and error principle and through interaction with its environment which actions are best suited in certain situations in order to achieve a defined goal.
Quantum computing will enable complex simulations that would previously have taken years of computing time. Planning would be carried out in real time, taking into account short-term changes, especially when optimizing resources. Energy requirements will fall massively and resolve the conflict between green computing and tech.
The metaverse has been somewhat overshadowed by the current AI hype, but will come and change how people experience, interact, collaborate and learn as a team. This will probably be the case by the beginning of the 2030s.
Finally, Hubertus von Roenne and Maik Ludewig from VBKI-Digital categorized the current European digital regulations and highlighted growth opportunities from a CEO perspective.
