Bidding for a good cause

Since its debut in 2016, the biennial VBKI Auction Gala has become a staple of Berlin’s charity calendar. It combines social engagement with art, culture, and unique experiences—and brings together people who share a commitment to Berlin.

The highlight of the evening is the auction of selected lots for a good cause. The offerings range from works by renowned and emerging artists to extraordinary experiences and encounters that are often not available through regular channels. The lots are donated by artists, galleries, companies, institutions, and dedicated individuals from the VBKI network.

Proceeds from the auction gala will benefit the VBKI’s charitable projects. These include, among others, the “ BERLINER LESEPATEN ” program, in which more than 2,000 volunteers work to promote reading and language skills among children and young people, as well as other initiatives in the areas of education, social inclusion, and supporting the next generation.

In this way, the VBKI Auction Gala combines a special evening in Berlin with a tangible contribution to the city's community.
