VBKI Golf Open 2025: An all-round successful tournament

The VBKI Golf Open 2025 last Friday was an all-round successful event. Around 85 golfers competed to show off their skills in team play. The day began with a warm welcome and a leisurely breakfast, where all participants were able to get in the mood for the tournament.

With a cannon start at 11 a.m., both the tournament participants and the participants of the taster course hit the first balls. During the game, catering was provided on the golf course so that nobody went hungry or thirsty. The rain, which lasted for an hour, could not dampen the good mood, the atmosphere remained excellent and all participants proved to be weatherproof.

The special style of play of the Texas Scramble, where each player tees off and then the best ball is selected before all players take their next shot from that position, led to many exciting moments and strategic considerations. After all 18 holes had been played, we gathered on the terrace of the clubhouse in the sunshine and were able to relax with cool drinks and an excellent selection of snacks from the JW Mariott. This was followed by the festive prize-giving ceremony, where our President Markus Voigt and our Executive Committee member Kaweh Niroomand were responsible for honoring the winners.

The day was rounded off with a joint dinner, where all participants had the opportunity to catch up and reflect on the day. All in all, it was a wonderful day full of sporting highlights, fellowship and culinary delights.
